# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It’s a hands-on, customizable meal that makes you feel like a kid again, trading topping combos around the fire.
  • No two pockets ever taste exactly the same, and half the fun is discovering new favorites each time.
02 -
  • Don’t overfill your pockets—even though it’s tempting, you’ll end up with bursting cheese and a mess to clean out of the iron.
  • Wiping the pie iron with a bit of oil before cooking helps release stuck-on bits and keeps the next round as perfect as the first.
03 -
  • Let the bread sit out for a few minutes so it’s slightly dry—this helps it crisp up and keeps it from tearing.
  • Brush the inside of the pie iron with a little butter or oil before adding your sandwich—this adds extra crunch and deep flavor.
