01 - Thoroughly rinse the fresh dandelion petals and leaves under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Pat dry if using fresh petals.
02 - Bring the filtered water to a boil in a small saucepan or kettle.
03 - Place the dandelion petals and leaves in a teapot or heatproof container.
04 - Pour the hot water over the dandelions. Cover and let steep for 8 to 10 minutes to extract the full flavor and beneficial compounds.
05 - Strain the tea into cups, discarding the solids. Add honey or lemon if desired. Serve hot.
