10 - 6 slider buns
11 - 3 tbsp mayonnaise
12 - 1 cup baby arugula or mixed greens
13 - 6 slices cheddar cheese (optional)
14 - 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
15 - Butter (for toasting buns)

# How-To Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F.
02 - Slice chicken breasts horizontally to create 6 small fillets.
03 - In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, smoked paprika, pepper, and salt.
04 - Add chicken fillets to the marinade. Let sit for 10 minutes.
05 - In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
06 - Remove chicken from marinade (reserve marinade); grill or pan-sear each fillet 3-4 minutes per side. When cooked through, set aside.
07 - Pour remaining marinade into the pan. Simmer 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Brush over cooked chicken.
08 - Optionally, place a slice of cheddar on each piece of chicken and broil for 1 minute until melted.
09 - Brush buns lightly with butter. Toast cut sides in a skillet until golden.
10 - Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on bottom buns. Layer with arugula, glazed chicken, bacon, onion, and top bun.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The combination of smoky bacon and sweet maple glaze is incredibly addictive.
  • Everything comes together in just over half an hour.
02 -
  • Do not reuse the marinade raw without boiling it first.
  • Watch the glaze carefully in the final minutes because the high sugar content burns quickly.
03 -
  • Pound the chicken lightly before slicing to ensure uniform thickness.
  • Use a silicone brush to apply the glaze evenly.
